Academic Dress - Associates

Associates of the Academy are entitled to wear the gown
of the Academy, as for Fellows.
Associates are entitled to wear the hood of dark blue fully lined with
gold taffeta in the simple shape.
They are also entitled to use the post nominal letters AASC and will
receive a Certificate of Membership to the Academy of St. Cecilia. |
Academic Dress - Fellows

Gowns are available in two styles, a performer's style, designed for ease
of playing or conducting, and a festal style. The performer's style is based
on the Cambridge bachelor's gown trimmed with gold cord on the open edge of
the facing and open seam of the armhole, also a cord and button on the yoke.
The festal style is based on the Oxford master's gown similarly trimmed with
gold cord and button.
The Hoods are the full Glasgow shape. The body of the hood is in dark blue
ribbed cotton viscose, fully lined and cape edged two inches with gold
taffeta, the cowl edged three inches with cerise taffeta. |

Academic Dress - Corporate Members

Corporate Members of the Academy are entitled to wear an Oxford-style undergraduate (short) gown with
gold chord on the sleeve and yoke.
A Certificate of membership to the Academy of Saint
Cecilia will be awarded to the institution. Academic dress for this level of admission
can be purchased from the Academy.

Robe makers to The Academy of St. Cecilia are
J.Wippell & Company of Exeter.
On election, Fellows will receive an authorization from the Registrar
to purchase the academic dress.
