The Academy of St Cecilia held our Gregorian
Chant Symposium, on Saturday 17th June 2006.
Organists had the opportunity to work with Dr Naji Hakim and Martin
Baker, who will be conducting master classes on improvising on the Chant.
The day concluded with a celebration of Vespers led by course
participants and the combined cathedral choirs of St George’s Roman Catholic
Cathedral, Southwark Anglican Cathedral, Arundel Cathedral and the London
Oratory Schola.
The Academy is delighted to welcome members of the
Plainsong and Medieval Music Society to the symposium.
