Spring Convocation

James Devor plays the organ of Brentwood Cathedral
The Academy visits Brentwood Cathedral for the first time. We are delighted that the recial will be given by James Devor who is a recently elected Honorary Fellow. James Devor plays at both Brentwood Cathedral and at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street.

Three day Gregorian Chant Course: The Oratory School, Reading.
A rare opportunity, this intensive workshop will be run in conjunction with the Oxford Gregorian Chant Society (a University-based Chant ensemble under the directorship of Dr Joseph Shaw), the St Catherine Family Trust and the Latin Mass Society of England & Wales. The course will last from Friday lunchtime through to Sunday lunchtime. The fee of £90 includes accommodation, meals and tuition fees. There will be two tutors running a beginners/intermediary and advanced class and there will be three sung Masses in the Usus Antiquior (Tridentine Rite), two Vespers and two Compline services. The course tutors are Nick Gale, Director of Music at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark and Secretary to the Academy, and the Master of the Academy, Mark Johnson.
